DOUBLE MY IMPACT   Dear Aaaaaaa, PETA Asia's recent investigation of the cashmere industry in China and Mongolia reveals intense pain and suffering: Workers were documented dragging and throwing terrified goats, pinning them down, and yanking their hair out with sharp metal combs as the animals screamed in agony. Goats were hit with hammers in slaughterhouses, and their broken, worn-out bodies were sold for cheap meat. Some goats moved for minutes as they bled out onto the filthy kill floor after workers slit their throats. I'm committed to stopping such abuse—and I know that as a caring PETA supporter, you are, too. Eyewitnesses had to be taken to remote locations by complete strangers, with no way of contacting us. They quite literally put their lives on the line to reveal cruelty and help change the world for these goats. I've lost count of the number of anguished messages I've received from investigators who have just seen workers break a sheep's neck, skin a puppy, torment a rabbit, or do other atrocious things to vulnerable animals. I wouldn't give this work up for anything in the world, because the eyewitnesses and I—and supporters like you, Aaaaaaa, who keep us going—are the lucky ones. We get to be part of the fight, to be the ones who open people's eyes and make a difference for animals.
