View it as a Web page.   Transportation Statistical Annual Report 2024 Tuesday, December 31, 2024 The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) is pleased to release the 2024 edition of the Transportation Statistical Annual Report (TSAR).  This 30th-anniversary edition of TSAR documents how the transportation system has changed through economic booms, a major recession, and the shock of a pandemic. The 2024 TSAR is organized into 7 focus areas that reflect the topics in BTS's legislative mandate, including some new data items. The report includes: State of the System,  Passenger Travel and Equity,  Freight and Supply Chain,  Transportation Economics,  Transportation Safety,  Energy and Sustainability  State of Transportation Statistics    The 2024 TSAR includes a section on emerging trends in each of the 6 focus areas: The State of the System highlights recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic and Cybersecurity. Passenger Travel and Equity highlights demographic and workplace trends that affect travel. Freight and Supply Chain includes disruptions from drought and geopolitical conflicts. Transportation Economics discusses transportation's share of inflation. Transportation Safety explores the new normal in fatality and injury statistics. Energy and Sustainability discusses the transition to new energy sources for transportation and the emissions economy. The 2024 TSAR also focuses on closing data gaps and improving how transportation statistics are collected, compiled, analyzed, and published.  TSAR is a report of the BTS Director to the President and Congress.
