SAG-AFTRA extends contract; talks continue

SAG-AFTRA, Hollywood's biggest union, has agreed to extend its contract with the studios and continue talks over a new pay deal.

The performers union's contract expired June 30, and the guild had secured permission from its 160,000 members to go on strike if no deal was reached.

However, the union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers secured more time for the two sides to work on a deal.
