Dear Aaaaaaa, I shudder to think what might have happened to Chloe, a sweet dog who was suffering from a life-threatening uterine infection, if our mobile clinic hadn't had the supplies on hand to perform an emergency spay surgery on her last fall. If you've ever shared your home with a dog, cat, rabbit, or other animal companion, you surely know that veterinary care can be expensive. The emergency spay surgery that saved Chloe's life would have cost her guardian upwards of $1,000 at a private veterinary clinic—a price that many low-income families simply cannot pay, no matter how desperately their beloved animal companion needs it. Spay Day is just beginning—and dozens of families are already lined up for low-cost and free surgeries for their beloved cats and dogs. Will you help us ensure that every one of these animals gets the help that they need? Our veterinary staff members will perform as many surgeries as they can today, but the urgent need for their services doesn't end when the sun sets on Spay Day. Warmer spring weather will soon trigger "kitten season," a time when the number of kittens born surges and shelters already bursting at the seams fill with more unwanted animals than can possibly find loving homes. We depend on your kindness and generosity to keep these lifesaving mobile clinics up and running. We need your gift by midnight tonight to ensure that our mobile clinics are always there to help. Will you make a special Spay Day gift of just $5 or more for animals now? PETA's mobile clinics performed more than 11,600 surgeries on dogs like Chloe at little or no cost last year, and we aim to do even more in 2019. But we rely on your support to ensure that we have the resources necessary to provide spay/neuter surgeries and other essential care:
Thank you for your compassion and willingness to help when animals are in need. Kind regards, | |||||||||||||||
