Dear Aaaaaaa, All dogs deserve to be sheltered, fed, cared for, and loved. All dogs deserve this—but some will never experience it. Instead, they'll be neglected—forced to live outdoors even during icy winter weather with little more than an overturned barrel or old trash can to protect them, if they have any protection at all. Ignored by their owners, some won't live to see the spring thaw. If caring people like you and me don't step in to help these animals, who will? PETA's custom-built doghouses are built to last through all kinds of weather—from the bone-chilling wind and snow of winter to the blazing sun and scorching heat of summer. When you sponsor a PETA doghouse this Valentine's Day, you'll be helping our fieldworkers give some desperately needed relief to lonely dogs. Our team lines the doghouses with ample straw bedding to give the animals some insulation from the cold and replaces heavy chains with lightweight tie-outs that allow them a bit more freedom. Once a dog is given a new doghouse, the team follows up by making regular visits to check on their welfare and give them some of the affection that they so rarely experience. While every dog should be enjoying a family's love this Valentine's Day, many of the people our field program visits refuse to let their dogs live indoors as part of their family. We must do all that we can to make those dogs' days and nights a little less miserable. Will you take a moment to help cold dogs this Valentine's Day? Your support today will make their lives a little safer—and show them that someone loving cares for them—during the cold nights still to come. | ||||
