Dear Aaaaaaa, For most of us, ensuring that a beloved dog is warm on a frigid winter night is as simple as turning up the thermostat. But for "outside dogs" like Rocky—kept on a heavy chain with little more than an overturned barrel to shield him from icy winds and rain—a single freezing night can be deadly. We need to raise $7,300 this week to deliver sturdy, PETA-built doghouses to 20 dogs like Rocky before winter's worst sets in. Will you help change a dog's life by sponsoring a doghouse today? Every day, PETA receives calls and e-mails about dogs who are confined to lonely backyards and never allowed indoors—no matter how harsh the weather. As temperatures drop, it's not uncommon for our fieldworkers to find dogs curled up in tight balls, shivering violently as they try to keep warm. Every dog deserves the comfort of a permanent indoor home, but if we can't persuade an owner to allow their animals inside, a PETA doghouse is often dogs' only chance at some protection from the cold. Each doghouse we deliver has a generous overhang and an entrance covered by a flap to help keep the interior dry. Whether you're sponsoring a doghouse through a monthly gift or giving as little as $5, every penny of your sponsorship will push us closer to our $7,000 goal and improve the life of a neglected "outside dog." Please don't wait—dogs like Rocky need your help. Thank you for making a difference for dogs—and all animals—this winter. Kind regards, | ||||
