A rabbit screams as her soft fur is torn out by the handful for an angora sweater. A dog in a Chinese slaughterhouse cries out as she's bludgeoned before the skin is stripped from her body for a pair of gloves. Any item made from an animal's skin represents intense suffering. When the fur is finally peeled off over their heads, their skinless, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile. They arrive, terrified, in crowded cages on the backs of trucks and then are bludgeoned, hanged, and bled to death so that their fur can be turned into trim and trinkets. PETA is exposing—and stopping—the cruelty behind every fur-trimmed jacket, leather belt, and wool sweater. Even longtime opponents are now reading the writing on the wall.
