Double Your Impact

Dear Aaaaaaa,

Cannoli has never known the love of a kind and caring family.

He has never felt the joy of a walk in the park or the warmth of a loving home.

And without our help, there's a chance he never will.

Today is Cannoli's birthday, but this sweet, healthy golden retriever has nothing to celebrate as long as he's spending his whole life trapped inside a lonely, sterile laboratory at Texas A&M University. PETA is doing everything that we can to free him and 25 other miserable, neglected dogs from laboratory cages, and we need you with us.

A hard-hitting PETA campaign led TAMU to announce last year that it had stopped breeding dogs to be tormented in painful, pointless canine muscular dystrophy (MD) experiments. Many dogs were freed and placed in homes with families. Cannoli, too, was made available for adoption. But then he was taken off the adoption list and transferred to another laboratory.

When our campaign against canine MD experiments first began, TAMU experimenters held nearly 100 dogs in their clutches and were intentionally breeding them to develop symptoms of the debilitating disease. Powered by the boundless compassion of supporters like you, PETA's demonstrations, lawsuits, and others forms of activism have spared dozens of dogs and chipped away at the school's indefensible cruelty.
