Water increasingly at the center of conflicts from Ukraine to the Middle East Click to view images Researchers at the Oakland-based Pacific institute have cataloged more than 1,630 cases of water-related conflict. Most have occurred since 2000, and there has been a rising trend over the last decade — with a concerning spike the last few years.
