Dear Aaaaaaa, From the moment PETA fieldworkers discovered Crystal running loose in a North Carolina trailer park earlier this month, they could smell that the dog was in trouble. Beneath Crystal's filthy white fur was a massive wound that reeked of infection, the ghastly result of a too-small collar that had become deeply embedded in her flesh—a common occurrence among dogs who are left outside as puppies and all but ignored thereafter. Our team quickly rushed her to an emergency veterinarian for surgery to remove the collar—the first step in Crystal's months-long healing process. Today, she's receiving frequent treatment for her life-threatening wound and slowly recuperating in a loving foster home as she awaits adoption. But countless more animals just like her are still waiting for a chance at the life that they deserve: one free of cruelty and neglect. If we don't help them, who will? Please support PETA's life-changing work for animals like Crystal by renewing your membership for 2019 today. We have just four days left to meet our 25,000-member goal by our January 30 deadline, and your donation right now will help get us there. Our fieldworkers reached this sweet young pup just in time to help her escape the strangling hold of that collar, and she's far from the only one we've helped. The committed support of PETA members provides the resources that we need in order to prevent countless animals from enduring lives of misery. Without the compassion and generosity of our donors last year, we wouldn't have been able to do the following:
Right now, there are many animals like Crystal in dire circumstances. That's why I hope you'll take a moment to renew your membership for 2019 today. Thank you for all that you're doing to help abused and neglected animals in 2019. Kind regards, P.S. We know there's a lap out there somewhere with Crystal's name on it. If you live on the East Coast of the U.S. and that lap belongs to you, e-mail Adopt@peta.org to find out how you may be able to bring her home. | ||||
