Dear Aaaaaaa,

On a sheep farm in Australia, terrified lambs are being forced onto their backs and mutilated, their tails cut and burned off with a hot knife—without any pain relief. An eyewitness captured footage of lambs wailing and writhing in agony as flames shot up from their flesh.

PETA is determined to stop the cruelty of the wool industry—but we need help from every single PETA member in order to do so.

With the help of our committed donors, we have big plans to make more progress in 2019.

I know that together, we can achieve them—and the year that just wrapped up is proof. In 2018, your support helped PETA achieve so much:

  • We persuaded hundreds more retail brands to ban fur, angora, and mohair, which means that countless dogs, rabbits, goats, and other animals will be spared misery and a painful death at the hands of the cruel fashion industry. Renew your kindness in 2019.
  • Consumers were reminded that "vegan" is the most important food label to look for. PETA exposés of so-called "humane" farms supplying companies like Nellie's Free Range Eggs reveal again and again that—despite industry claims—animals suffer tremendously for the meat, eggs, and dairy "products" on grocers' shelves. Renew your kindness in 2019.
  • We persuaded major corporations, including global food and spirits company Asahi Group Holdings and cereal giant General Mills, to ban tests on animals for the purpose of making health claims—preventing mice, rats, and others from being locked in cages, force-fed, starved, and injected with chemicals. Renew your kindness in 2019.

Despite all that we've accomplished together, we cannot rest. Every groundbreaking PETA investigation, every video that exposes horrific cruelty, and every rescue from a lifetime of abuse and neglect reveals the suffering that animals face every day. We must do everything in our power to help these sensitive beings and provide them with the secure future that everyone deserves.

Thank you for being dedicated to making this planet a more compassionate place for all beings.

Kind regards,

Ingrid E. Newkirk
President
