URGENT: Help keep our whistleblower hotline going

The USDA has abandoned its hotline for reporting animal abuse—leaving countless animals at risk.

Yes, I Want to Help!

Dear Aaaaaaa,

The partial government shutdown has led the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal Care office to abandon its hotline for reporting animal abuse, a move that puts living, feeling beings in laboratories, roadside zoos, breeding facilities, and elsewhere at grave risk.

PETA cruelty investigators are now stepping in to protect animals with our own 24/7 hotline, but we urgently need more resources in order to respond quickly to every complaint.

Please, make an emergency gift to PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund right now to help us keep this crucial hotline running for as long as it's needed.

Whistleblowers are vital to our work to expose and stop cruelty to and neglect of animals. Over and over again, the compassion and determination of these insiders have prompted eye-opening investigations, many of which have resulted in major corporate and government policy changes, convictions of animal abusers, and even the shutdown of laboratories, slaughterhouses, and other hideous facilities.

Whistleblowers must have an outlet available to report concerns regarding abuse—whether the victim is an injured monkey in a laboratory or a neglected bear denied veterinary care at a roadside zoo.

That's why PETA is now—and always has been—here to take their calls, ensuring that their reports are heard and fully investigated. This work takes significant resources, and we need your support to ensure that we can take action in every case that comes our way.

Your urgently needed gift to PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund will immediately boost our critical work by funding the emergency hotline and strengthening our vital cruelty investigations.

The government shutdown is leaving animals even more vulnerable to cruelty and neglect, and we hope the federal government will soon resume its duty and do more to hold abusers accountable.

No matter what happens, PETA must be there to help every animal who needs us.

Thank you for taking action today.

Kind regards,

Ingrid E. Newkirk
President
