Dear Aaaaaaa,

Rain showers are a welcome respite for many people during the hot, humid summer months. But for "outdoor dogs" without adequate shelter, a summer rainstorm only compounds their misery.

Instead of bringing relief from summer's heat, the rain leaves dogs stuck outside soaking-wet and caked with mud, with no way to get clean and dry. Their skin, ears, and paws can become inflamed and infected, making their days unbearable.

But you can do something for them today.

Will you help dogs like Beauty?

PETA's fieldworkers found Beauty standing in inches-deep muddy water. Her only protection from the elements was a decrepit plastic doghouse that was blocked by the remains of the tree that she was chained to.

But kind people like you made all the difference for this sweet dog. Thanks to support from our doghouse sponsors, we were able to give her a custom-built shelter on dry land—and some much-needed affection.

Right now, many pups like Beauty are still suffering outside without proper shelter to protect them from the bright summer sun and raging storms—waiting for someone to make their lives a little more comfortable, a little more bearable. Please, be that someone, Aaaaaaa.
