Floods in Kerala: Animals in India are in danger

Help the animals at risk today!

Dear Aaaaaaa,

Right now, animals in Kerala are suffering after some of the worst flooding to hit the Indian state in nearly a century. Horses, bullocks, and others have died during this tragedy, and today, the lives of many others are at risk from starvation, dehydration, and the inability to receive adequate veterinary care.

Thankfully, Animal Rahat is saving lives in Kerala right now.

Soon after news of the historic flooding broke, Animal Rahat's emergency team members set out for Kerala, traveling more than 800 miles with a fully equipped veterinary ambulance and a truck crammed full of food, medicine, and rescue equipment. The moment they arrived on the scene, they began distributing desperately needed food to help animals who have been hungry since the floodwaters hit.

Thanks to the team members' extensive emergency training, they're able to respond to the crisis with compassion and experience, even when faced with the most unpredictable of challenges.

Take, for example, this cow rescued by the team, along with three others. They were trapped on a rooftop with their young calves, trying to escape rising waters. Without food or potable water, they would have died had the team not come along to save them.

Whether it's responding to the crisis in Kerala or coming to the aid of frightened animals trapped in an abandoned well, Animal Rahat is always there for animals in need.

Thank you for your support of Animal Rahat and all that it does for the animals in that country.

Kind regards,

Ingrid E. Newkirk
President
