A dangerous week for dogs

Help dogs survive the summer.

As we enter one of the hottest times of the year, we're receiving more and more calls about "backyard dogs" left without shade from the broiling sun or protection from the violent storms of summer.

Dogs without adequate shelter during scorching-hot summer days are in immediate danger. They may face dehydration, heatstroke, and a slow, excruciating death. Trapped in the driving rain of sudden summer thunderstorms by a heavy chain, dogs are left wallowing in mud and filth, hoping someone—anyone—will give them some relief from this misery.

Before the summer ends, we must deliver dozens more sturdy, PETA-built doghouses to give dogs like them a chance to survive.
