| "Your Roads, Their Freedom" Awareness Campaign The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has launched the "Your Roads, Their Freedom" campaign as part of DOT's Transportation Leaders Against Human Trafficking (TLAHT) awareness campaign to educate the commercial motor vehicle (CMV) industry on recognizing and reporting suspected instances of human trafficking. Human trafficking is a crime that poses a threat to transportation safety in every state across the U.S. As the eyes and ears of the nation's roadways, America's 8.7-million-strong CMV workforce is in a unique position to make a difference. The "Your Roads, Their Freedom" campaign seeks to empower the CMV industry with the information it needs to identify and report the crime. Commercial motor vehicle industry stakeholders are invited to build on the important work that is already being done in this space. By working together, we can make our roadways safer, save lives, and combat the scourge of human trafficking. A variety of counter-trafficking campaign materials are available to help spread awareness: - Indicator cards for frontline CMV workforce
- Posters to be displayed in rest areas, travel centers, bus stations, and other places where human trafficking may occur
- Social media content and a newsletter blurb that your organization can include in your internal and/or external communications
A library of shareable resources, including full details about the campaign and downloadable materials, can be found at the "Your Roads, Their Freedom" webpage. | | Access materials to take action against human trafficking, including a leadership statement, training suite, and public awareness materials. | Sign DOT's TLAHT pledge to ensure your employees and stakeholders are aware of your organization's stance against human trafficking. | | USDOT Counter-Trafficking Initiative U.S. Department of Transportation Office of International Transportation and Trade transportation.gov/stophumantrafficking trafficking@dot.gov | | | |
