At an underground, unsanctioned racetrack, horses are being injected with illegal street drugs and raced to death before screaming crowds.
In a strip mall, families line up for a chance to interact with terrified animals despite the real risk of being bitten and injured.
At a dreadful roadside attraction, tourists are handing over credit cards for the chance to hold a bear cub suffering from the trauma of being prematurely separated from their mother.
Donors to PETA’s Investigations & Rescue Fund power work that’s challenging cruelty and exploitation that many people wouldn’t know exists otherwise. In recent months, our investigators have blown the lid off cases at these places:
The crime-ridden racetracks, many reportedly connected to dangerous cartels in Mexico, where horses are injected with street drugs such as methamphetamine and cocaine and cocktails made of frog juice and cobra venom, all to make them run faster
The miserable tourist trap where mother bears are separated from their frantic cubs when the infants are just 8 weeks old so they can be exploited for cruel photo ops and in bottle-feeding “encounters”
The seedy indoor petting zoo and aquarium where frightened animals were denied veterinary care, reportedly to save on costs, and guests have frequently been bitten or scratched during interactions with them
Your generous monthly gift will power the work of PETA investigators, who put everything on the line to expose and stop such misery.
P.S. We’ll send you an exclusive monthly supporter PETA tote bag as thanks for your support! (U.S. and Canada residents only.)
