Aaaaaaa: A ‘Cow’ on the Subway, a ‘Human Skin’ Fashion Show, and More

Action Team

Dear Aaaaaaa,

Every leaflet you distribute, letter you write, and phone call you make has the potential to change lives—and each new victory is proof of that. Read on for exciting updates about campaigns and victories and to see how Action Team members, like you, are seizing every opportunity to change the world for animals.

Map for a Kinder World

Mom-to-be Eliza F. knows that the future of the planet depends on our going vegan. Go to PETA.org/Action to find easy and creative ways to speak up for animals.

A Mooving Display

Carla and Brian W. rode the subway during rush hour to hand out leaflets about Starbucks’ udderly ridiculous vegan upcharge.

Women collecting trash

Seas Every Opportunity

Marline R. uses her “me time” to help animals. On her rejuvenating beach walks, she goes “trash fishing,” picking up trash and discarded fishing gear that could harm wildlife. She posts pics of her bags of loot on social media to encourage friends to follow suit.

Leaflets, Leaflets Everywhere

Patrick T. is one of the vital folks who slip PETA literature under hotel doors, into airplane seat pockets, into magazine racks at doctors’ offices, and elsewhere. E-mail ActionTeam@peta.org to request free animal rights literature.

Activists Held a ‘Human Skin’ Fashion Show
Outside an Urban Outfitters Location

Image of Urban outfitters protest

Activists in hyper-realistic “human skin” unfurled a carpeted “runway” outside an Urban Outfitters location in New York City and posed the following question: If you’re weirded out by the idea of wearing human skin, why are you OK with wearing the skin of other animals? Show your family and friends the true cost of leather. Give someone an Urban Outraged “gift card” that’ll take them to a site with info that’s more valuable than money.

Victories for Animals

Here are some of the victories we achieved last month with your help.

Emergency Aid for Animals in Syria and Turkey

With countless victims of the devastating earthquakes in Syria and Turkey still trapped in damaged, unstable, or toppled buildings, PETA’s rescue team is on the ground to save more than 100 dogs, cats, and other animals trapped in these buildings or otherwise left behind. More animals’ stories are available here.
