Former Dodgers pitcher Max Scherzer agrees to deal with Mets

Max Scherzer, acquired by the Dodgers last summer as part of an unsuccessful effort to repeat as World Series champions, has agreed to a deal with the New York Mets.

The Dodgers, Angels and San Francisco Giants were among the teams trying to sign the three-time Cy Young Award winner.
