On February 5, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) CEO Alice Albright returned from a four-day visit to the Philippines to rekindle MCC's partnership and set the tone for renewed collaboration.
During her visit, CEO Albright witnessed the positive impact of MCC's partnership and deepened relationships with the government, civil society, and the private sector. They discussed reform ideas aimed at promoting economic growth for all Filipinos.
On February 22, MCC CEO Alice Albright departed Cabo Verde after a visit to strengthen the partnership and kick off the development of an MCC regional compact.
During her visit, Albright met with the President of Cabo Verde José Maria Neves, Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Sliva, and top government officials to discuss steps to advance the regional compact. She toured prior MCC-funded project sites at the Port of Praia and the Águas de Ponta Preta Wastewater Treatment Plant, and visited a tech park to learn about opportunities for digital transformation.
On February 8, MCC Deputy CEO Chidi Blyden participated in The Wilson Center's Africa Year in Review event along with Fonteh Akum, Executive Director of the Institute for Security Studies Africa, Ambassador Bisa Williams, and Ambassador Donald Booth. They discussed Africa's progress and challenges over the past year and explored opportunities for the future.

On February 15, MCC Deputy CEO Chidi Blyden concluded a visit to Tanzania and Kenya. During her visit, she met with government officials to discuss and advance threshold grant partnerships.
In Tanzania, Deputy CEO Blyden met with private sector leaders and civil society leaders to understand their priorities and discuss the development of a threshold program that will benefit all Tanzanians.
In Kenya, she visited gridlocked urban neighborhoods in Nairobi and met with University of Nairobi urban development students and professors to gain insights into land use challenges and possible solutions.
