On behalf of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), we are sharing pertinent information about available federal resources to assist you in recovering from a natural disaster and preparing before there is one. The U.S. Small Business Administration has an array of resources that provide guidance on preparing for emergencies and assistance to recover from an emergency. The SBA offers low interest loans to businesses, individuals, and others who are in regions affected by declared disasters. The Internal Revenue service also provides information on special tax law provisions that may help businesses and individuals recover financially from the impact of a disaster, especially when the federal government declares their location to be a major disaster area.
