A cold dog, curled up and shivering

Dropping temperatures are putting dogs in grave danger.

Dear Aaaaaaa,

Tonight, neglected "outside dogs" will spend long, frigid hours curled up and shivering in lonely backyards, trying to stay warm enough to survive until the sun rises again.

Without adequate shelter, their lives are in grave danger from the ice, snow, and bone-chilling winds of the weeks and months ahead.

Every custom-built PETA doghouse is sturdy and durable, designed to give a neglected "outside dog" some measure of relief during the chilliest winter nights and the hottest summer days. Each one is filled with straw to help insulate against the bitter cold, but our work doesn't end there. PETA's team also provides dogs with treats, a toy, and affection that they rarely receive from their owners.

With the generous support of donors like you, our fieldworkers have delivered more than 230 doghouses this year to give "backyard dogs" shelter when the weather turns dangerously cold. But more dogs still need our help—and we can't do it alone.

Thank you for keeping these neglected animals in your heart this holiday season—your kindness is not only remarkable but also lifesaving.
