Featured Monkeys used for laboratory experiments are cut open, poisoned, isolated, infected, and more—and many are killed. Take a few minutes to take action online and make a call to urge air cargo company AirBridgeCargo to halt any plans to fly monkeys who are destined for laboratories into Los Angeles International Airport. After more than 85,000 compassionate people told Gate 1 Travel that they oppose the use of elephants in the tourism industry—for which the animals are often forcibly separated from their mothers as babies, tied down, beaten mercilessly, and gouged with sharp weapons—the company stopped offering activities featuring captive elephants. Urge other travel companies to join Gate 1 Travel and dozens of other travel companies that have turned their backs on this abuse. A new tie or a bottle of aftershave feeling a little "been there, done that"? Give a gift of compassion with a PETA Present—a virtual gift that saves animals and is sure to be a hit with Dad. Some animals attempt to chew off their own limbs to escape from glue traps, while those whose faces become stuck in the glue can take hours to suffocate. Consumers are often directed to throw still-living animals into the trash along with the trap, leaving them to suffer for days until they die of starvation, blood loss, dehydration, or stress or from being crushed under trash. PETA U.K., PETA Latino (which offers options in both Spanish and English), PETA Asia, and other PETA affiliates are now on PETA's iPhone app, where you can take action for animals in just seconds every day. Bears don't belong in tiny cages or pits or in shows in which they're forced to perform to make their owners money. They shouldn't be separated from their mothers as infants, exploited for photo ops, or denied adequate veterinary care. Yet this is what hundreds of bears around the country are forced to endure. Contact seven facilities that are still exploiting bears, and learn other steps that you can take. In these events, capuchin monkeys are dressed in rodeo costumes and strapped to dogs who are trained to race around and start and stop abruptly so that the monkeys are violently jerked up and down and side to side, risking serious physical injury. The "rodeos" are starting today and continue into the summer. Urge stadiums to cancel these cruel and unnecessary spectacles immediately. This Father's Day, we'll celebrate dads everywhere—including fish, octopuses, and other sea animals—by leaving them off our plates and with their families where they belong. Protesters descended on a lululemon store in British Columbia to help persuade the athleisure company to stop being hypocritical and honor the yogic principle of ahimsa—which calls for kindness and compassion toward all living beings—by ditching down. Join them by sending a message to lululemon today! It's almost Father's Day, and what better way is there to celebrate than by listening to adorable kids brag about their parents' jobs? But what happens when Cindy gets up to talk about her SeaWorld orca–trainer dad? Urgent Action Needed |
