The incumbent of this position provides services, advice, and assistance in physical security matters to Library of Congress organizations and coordinates with agencies and organizations outside the Library of Congress.

Serves as a technical authority in assignments requiring the application of new theories and developments to physical security problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted security methods, technology, or procedures. Also, serves as an expert in basic locksmithing practices, including the design and implementation of keying schemes, installation of lock hardware, and application of keying programs. Resolves major conflicts in policy and program objectives. Performs key decision-making and policy-developing responsibilities for very difficult assignments.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he has qualified for California's presidential ballot Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Tuesday that he has qualified for California's presidential election ballot, giving his third-party candidacy a longshot chance at collecting 54 electoral votes this fall. If his spot on the ballot is certified by the California Secretary of State's office, which could come in August, he would represent the American Independent Party. The office confirmed to The Times that Kennedy's candidacy had been submitted by the party. Read more

Speeding Wrecks Lives In 2022, speeding killed 12,151 people — accounting for 29% of total traffic fatalities. Join us to educate the public about the dangers of speeding.
