Ailing Turkeys Kept in Squalor After Being ‘Pardoned’ by Former President Donald J. Trump

What becomes of the turkeys who are “pardoned” by a president after Thanksgiving? When PETA visited Gobbler’s Rest on the campus of Virginia Tech, we found four “pardoned” turkeys forced to live in filthy, barren conditions and unable to perform important activities such as dust-bathing or roosting. They’re so stressed and depressed from a lack of fresh air and sunlight and from having nothing to look at or do that their feathers are falling out.

end these racist experiments

Mice Forced to Fight Each Other in University’s Racist Experiments

Perhaps it shouldn’t surprise anyone that experimenters who imprison, mutilate, and kill sentient beings in a laboratory also conduct racist tests. Taxpayer-funded experiments at the University of Illinois–Chicago claim to study colorectal cancer in Black Americans by forcing mice to fight one another in order to mimic “structural violence observed in urban [African American] communities.” This is junk science.

Fascinating Fact:

Elephants’ trunks contain over 40,000 muscles, are densely packed with sensitive nerve endings, and play a central role in communication. African elephants may use their trunk to stroke a sick or grieving loved one, engage in a friendly game of trunk wrestling with a friend, or gently entwine it with a mate’s during courtship—just as humans might hold hands.
