U.S. Marines Drink Beheaded Cobras' Blood

Action Alert

Dear Aaaaaaa,

After outrageous photos and videos showed U.S. service members drinking the blood of beheaded snakes and eating live animals during an annual jungle survival training, PETA is calling on the U.S. military to stop this abhorrent behavior, which is more reminiscent of a frat party gone wrong than a military training drill.

Some U.S. troops recently took part in wanton cruelty at Cobra Gold 2020, the 39th annual survival training event held in Thailand. Part of the training, captured on the cell phones of the participants, involved Marines killing chickens with their bare hands, gutting live geckos before eating them, chomping on live tarantulas and scorpions, and cutting open cobras to drink their blood.

PETA fired off a letter to the U.S. Marines commandant and to the secretary of defense urging them to ban the use of live animals in future trainings, but we need your help to keep the pressure on.

Please Take Action to Keep Animals out of Military Survival Skills Trainings

Thank you for everything that you do to help animals!

Sincerely,

Shalin Gala
Vice President, International Laboratory Methods
Laboratory Investigations Department
