FTA Announces Two Opportunities to Provide Technical Assistance

FTA is seeking entities to administer two technical assistance programs.

On July 31, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced a solicitation to select an entity to administer the National Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP). FTA intends to fund the program at up to $1.9 million for the first year.

The National RTAP will carry out activities to design and implement training and technical assistance projects and other support services tailored to meet the specific needs of transit operators in rural areas, including Indian Country.

Applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Aug. 30, 2019.

Recently, FTA also announced a solicitation of project proposals for the Rural and Small Urban Transit Applied Technology Technical Assistance Center (RSU-TAT). The RSU-TAT will carry out activities to assist small urban, rural, tribal public transit recipients, and planning organizations with applied innovation and capacity-building.

Applications must be submitted by midnight Eastern Time on Aug. 9, 2019.
