Make It to the Table:
This Thanksgiving Eve, Don't Drink and Drive.

buzzed 200Thanksgiving has become one of the deadliest times of the year on America's roads because "Thanksgiving Eve," the Wednesday before the holiday, has become one of the year's biggest drinking days. Whether it's young people home from college or adults who know they have the next day off from work, Thanksgiving Eve has contributed to a rise in drunk driving deaths around the holiday.

To make our roads safer around Thanksgiving, NHTSA is organizing a one-day, highway safety community media blitz starting Friday, November 17 at 11 a.m. ET to warn about the dangers of drinking and driving around the Thanksgiving holiday. We want to send a powerful, loud, and unified message on social and traditional media—Make it to the table: don't drink and drive during Thanksgiving. Americans need to hear that getting behind the wheel after drinking on Thanksgiving Eve can lead to an empty chair at Thanksgiving dinner.

Don't drink and drive during Thanksgiving.
