After a destructive landslide pulled eight Rolling Hills Estates homes down a canyon slope and pushed several others into structural purgatory, neighbors are concerned about more potential ground shifts even as repair work begins to shore up the hillside.
The city reported that last winter's excessive rains caused July's landslide, and residents worry that heavy rainfall this winter could again overwhelm the still unstable ground, threatening even more homes or creating new issues across the landslide-prone Palos Verdes Peninsula.
