This position requires a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance due to the role of the position in the agency.
The Director is responsible for the general administration of the directorate, the long-range planning and coordination of directorate activities, the formulation and presentation of policy recommendations to the Executive Committee, the coordination of work with other areas of the Library, and liaison with other Federal agencies and organizations as appropriate. The Director chairs the Collections Security Oversight Committee and the Emergency Management Team and serves as Library liaison with the U.S. Capitol Police. The incumbent exercises independent authority for planning, developing, managing, and evaluating all aspects of security, law enforcement, investigations, and intelligence support for the Library of Congress.
