Dear Aaaaaaa,

If I had to describe PETA's legal team in just one word, it would be "trailblazing."

Since 1980, we've pushed the envelope where others would not—and as a result, we've achieved more groundbreaking legal precedents for animals than any other group in the world.

Now we're facing a bevy of new legal challenges—from countering a dangerous "ag-gag" law in Iowa to suing to try to free Lolita the orca from captivity and defending ourselves against attacks by well-funded industry groups that exploit animals.

That's why today we're launching a critical campaign to support the PETA Legal Fund. We need to raise $100,000 by March 31 to help ensure that we can continue to push forward with our cutting-edge legal work and step up whenever and wherever animals need us most.

Be one of the very first to support the PETA Legal Fund campaign by making a special gift today. Even $5 is an important contribution to our work.

We're changing hearts, minds, and the law—all so that we can change animals' lives for the better. Help us reach our $100,000 goal by March 31!
One goal at the heart of all our legal work is to establish and expand fundamental rights for animals in their own right—not in relation to how they can be exploited by humans. Our legal team does all that it can to help protect animals from exploitation by taking animal abusers to court, working with the authorities when cruelty or neglect is taking place, and delivering the evidence needed to hold abusers accountable for their crimes.

With the help of PETA's committed, generous donors, our team has accomplished some truly fantastic legal victories for animals, including the following:

  • We spearheaded lawsuits in Idaho and Utah that led courts to find the states' "ag-gag" laws unconstitutional.
  • We won the first felony cruelty convictions for workers who abused pigs on factory farms.
  • We filed the U.S. Department of Agriculture complaint against Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus that resulted in the largest fine in circus history.
Our legal team is making vital progress for animals—laying the groundwork that is changing hearts, minds, and the law when it comes to animals' fundamental rights.

Animal rights are the next frontier of civil rights—and today you can stand with us at the forefront of the movement to make our world a better place for all living, feeling beings. Donate to the PETA Legal Fund today and help us reach our $100,000 goal.

Thank you so much for all that you do for animals, from the tiniest mouse to the tallest elephant—and everyone in between.

Kind regards,
