Secretary of Defense to Deliver Commencement Address at South Carolina State University, Visit Fort Jackson

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III departs on domestic travel Thursday, May 9 to South Carolina State University, South Carolina, and the U.S. Army's Fort Jackson to highlight the Department's focus on taking care of people and the value of public service to our nation.

During his visit to SCSU and Fort Jackson, Secretary Austin will visit SCSU ROTC cadets, and meet with Soldiers assigned to Fort Jackson. He will also visit the Fort Jackson Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and the Army's Future Soldier Preparatory Course. 

On Friday, the Secretary will deliver remarks during the South Carolina State University commencement.
