More than 100 arrested at UCLA, UC San Diego as campuses step up security

Heightened and quick-moving police actions against protesters have unfolded at UCLA and other campuses. University officials said there will be little tolerance for demonstrators who disrupt the university and violate laws and student conduct codes in the wake of last week's violence at a pro-Palestinian encampment.

The stepped-up enforcement at two UC campuses represents a shift in tactics from the previous light-handed approach that allowed students to erect encampments protesting Israel's bombardment in Gaza.
